Tired of Thanksgiving’s Same Old Recipes? Give This Spicy Starter a Whirl!

With Thanksgiving right around the corner-ish, it’s time to find some new recipes to kick up the holiday.  Here is one delicious option for a great starter (thank you, AllRecipes!) — it’s stays within the Thanksgiving theme, but gives your guests a taste of something spicier.

If you’re not a fan of jalapenos, other peppers that would work well  include the Aleppo pepper, a cumin-like, fruity pepper (traditional in Moroccan foods; about 10,000 scoville units), or the chocolate Bhut Jolokia (Ghost) pepper (a beautiful fruity pepper with about 1,200,000 scoville units), for a bigger kick.

Fiery Bacon Chocolate Almond Swirl Ice Cream – the ULTIMATE Experience

I am not a fan of deserts, so when we got an ice cream maker, I was ice cream 4determined to make the very best ice cream in existence.  And we have it:  the ultimate ice cream experience. It includes everything indulgent in the world.  It is better than sex (several confirmations on that). A spicy cinnamon-vanilla base, it is loaded with chunks of spicy bacon coated in ghost-pepper-spiked dark chocolate, along with cinnamon-sugar coated almonds (toasted in ghost-pepper bacon grease) for crunch.  Behold: Fire-Eaters’ Chocolate Bacon Chocolate Almond Swirl Ice Cream, a/k/a  Gluttony.

Even people who don’t like spicy foods have given it insane reviews.  We are thinking about offering at the next local festival.  We’re happy to offer samples (although we cannot ship it without creating a mess)… so let us know if you’d like to try it!  We’d love your feedback.
